First-Time Guest Guide: What to Expect at Relax Myora

Allen Spa Lounge

Booking your first massage comes with a lot of small unknowns. What to wear, whether to tip, whether you’re supposed to talk. Here’s exactly how a visit goes at either of our spas — and how to get the most from it.

Book Your First Session

Booking your first massage — especially at a spa you’ve never been to — comes with a lot of small unknowns. What do you wear? Do you tip? Are you supposed to talk? What if the pressure is wrong? This is the guide we wish every first-time Relax Myora guest had before they walked in.

Whether you’re booking our Frisco spa on Independence Parkway or our Allen spa off Stacy Road, the answer to all of it is the same: you’re allowed to do this however feels good. Here’s how the visit actually goes.

Before you arrive

  • Book online or by phone at either location. If you’re new, we recommend either a 60-minute Signature Massage (great baseline) or the WTF Massage if you have one very specific area of tension.
  • Eat lightly 60–90 minutes before. A full stomach is uncomfortable face-down.
  • Hydrate through the day — well-hydrated tissue responds better.
  • Skip alcohol before your session; skip strenuous workouts the same day if you can.
  • Arrive 10–15 minutes early so you have time for the intake form and to settle in.

What to wear (and what to bring)

Wear something comfortable and easy to change out of. In the treatment room you’ll undress to your level of comfort — some guests keep underwear on, some don’t. Either is fine. You’ll be under a sheet the entire session, and only the area being worked on is uncovered at any given time.

Bring water and, if you like, a hair tie. That’s it. Skip heavy jewelry, watches, and heavy makeup.

Walking in

  1. Front desk check-in. We’ll confirm your service, walk you through a short intake form (any injuries, pregnancy, medications, pressure preferences, what you want out of the session), and offer you tea or water.
  2. Lounge time. Both locations have a quiet lounge where you can decompress before your therapist comes to get you.
  3. Restroom stop. Take one before you go back — it’s uninterrupted from there.

Meeting your therapist

Your therapist will introduce themselves, look at your intake, and ask a few clarifying questions: what areas to focus on, what to avoid, and what pressure you like. If you’ve had massage before and know what works, tell them. If you haven’t, that’s fine too — just describe what you feel: “my right shoulder is stiff” is a perfectly useful sentence.

You don’t have to talk during the session. Most guests don’t. It’s not rude — it’s the point. Your therapist won’t chat if you’re quiet. If you feel more comfortable making small talk, that’s fine too. Whatever helps you relax.

In the treatment room

Your therapist will step out. Undress to your comfort level, get on the table under the sheet face-down (or as they’ve instructed — prenatal and some other services start side-lying), and let yourself settle. They’ll knock before coming back in.

During the session:

  • Breathe. Deep, slow breaths help the pressure land and your muscles release.
  • Speak up if anything’s off. Too hot, too cold, pressure too much or too light, need to shift — just say it. It’s a normal part of a good session.
  • Don’t worry about “doing it right.” There’s no wrong way to lie there.

After the session

Your therapist will let you know they’re done, step out, and give you a few minutes to get up slowly and dress. Take your time — head rushes are common if you sit up too quickly.

Back at the front desk, we’ll have water waiting. This is when guests usually ask about what to do at home, when to come back, and whether the membership makes sense for how often they want to visit.

Tipping, pricing, and the memberships question

Tipping at Relax Myora follows industry standard — 15–20% is customary if you’re happy with the session. It can go on the card at checkout or in cash directly to your therapist.

Pricing starts at $70 for the short WTF Massage and $80 for a 60-minute Signature Massage. Prenatal is $90. Add-ons (sauna, cupping) run 20–60.

Membership makes sense if you’re planning to come in monthly or more — it covers a monthly signature session plus discounts on add-ons and gift cards. If you’re a once-in-a-while guest, pay-per-visit is fine.

How to get more out of your visit

  • Come back before the effect wears off. For most guests, that’s 3–4 weeks. Waiting three months means starting over.
  • Add sauna 20 minutes before the massage. Warm tissue releases faster; you get more done per minute.
  • Book the same therapist twice. They’ll remember what worked and skip re-learning your body.
  • Give feedback in the moment. A good therapist would rather hear “a bit lighter please” than have you leave less than thrilled.

Gift cards. If you’re gifting a massage, our gift cards are dollar-amount based — the recipient chooses the service, therapist, and location. It’s the safest, most-appreciated way to gift a spa visit.

Common first-visit worries — addressed

“I’m not sure I’m comfortable getting undressed.” You’re under a sheet the entire time. Only the area being worked on is uncovered. Wear underwear if that’s more comfortable — nothing about the session requires you not to.

“What if I fall asleep?” Wonderful. It’s a compliment to your therapist.

“What if I’m ticklish?” Tell your therapist before they start. Firmer, slower pressure fixes ticklishness almost immediately.

“What if the pressure’s wrong?” Say so — “a little lighter” or “a little more” is all it takes. Every therapist would rather adjust than have you unhappy.

“What if I need to use the restroom mid-session?” Ask. It’s completely normal.
